Managing and scoping requirements, architecting and deploying virtualization solutions for several clients. Also overseeing qualifying opportunities, pre-sales support, deal pricing and contract negotiation.
• Designed and supervised first ever deployment of Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution using VMware AirWatch v8.2 in ENI Pakistan for 109 different devices in Pakistan.
• Major accomplishment includes architecting and designing a multi-vendor solution for Bank Alfalah Limited, the 2nd largest Islamic Bank in Pakistan. Solution consists of Citrix XenApp 7.5 infrastructure in HA for 1600+ users configure over Hyper-V 2012 layer with network optimizer using Citrix NetScaler and utilizing Veeam Backup and Replication technology to protect the VMs at DR site.
• Investigated, designed and deployed 300+ more user setup on current Citrix XenApp 6.5 Farm for Dubai Islamic Bank based on Citrix Best Practices guidelines.
• Designed Veeam Backup and Replication solution for one of the biggest wholesalers in Pakistan Metro Cash and Carry to replicate their virtual machines.
• Collaborated with regional teams to drive major process improvements, time-lines and develop recommendations as per best practices for Mobilink GSM to migrate existing farm to XenApp 6.5.
• Responsible for designing backup and replication solution using Veeam v7.0 in Engro Foods and World Food Program (WFP) to replicate critical servers running on VMware and Hyper-V to DR and backed up on tape drive.
• Spearheaded pilot studies and implemented application multi-tenancy solution using XenApp 6.5 in Warid Telecom. It ensured application availability to all critical business centers entailing NetScaler in HA to optimize user network experience.
• Responsible for architecting and deploying complex multi-vendor solution in Pakistan Petroleum Limited using MS hyper-V and Citrix FlexCast technology. It ensured application and desktop availability to pass-through users. EdgeSight was used to monitor Citrix environment.
• Major accomplishment involved deploying and configuring first ever branch repeater in Pakistan for two Sites (Karachi and Lahore) in Chartis Insurance. Branch Repeater was deployed in two ARM high availability mode providing WAN optimization of their Network.
• Tasked with the integration and application requirements for branchless banking for Dubai Islamic Bank. Citrix and RSA SecurID was successfully integrated to provide secure connection to their applications.
• Designed scale-up solution for Colgate Palmolive involving different FlexCast models to cater variety of users along with streamed personalized vDisk using Citrix XenApp 6.5 and XenDesktop 5.6.
• Developed reusable assets such as solution architectures, both physical and logical for Interloop Pakistan. This provided cost effective solution for designing disaster recovery site by utilizing old servers.
• Orchestrated event to enterprise customers concerning virtualizing their “business critical applications”.
• Implemented and integrated RSA two factor authentication with Juniper firewall for Soneri Bank.
Coordinated system development tasks with my team across several projects and oversaw projects transition into production. As a member of management team, I focused on formulating business strategies for the company.
• Designed and implemented the solution to upgrade RSA SecurID from version 6.0 to 7.1 and its database on both primary and replica servers for State Bank of Pakistan. The solution was implemented on live environment without taking down the servers or impacting 1100 users and users’ database. Being a central bank of Pakistan; this system is being accessed by different monetary institutions on daily basis to upload financial reports.
• Designed and implemented the procedure to migrate 300 Citrix users from Presentation Server 4.5 to XenApp 5.0 by ensuring smooth transitions and without user impact for Mobilink GSM.
• Involved in the implementation of site-to-site VPN between the two sites of Mitsubishi Corporation. This helped in saving overhead cost for leased circuit link.
• Designed and implemented application virtualization solution in Al-Watani Telecom (Dubai) to ensure their ERP application accessibility and availability for users in Iraq using XenApp 6.0.
• Responsible for providing 3rd level RightFax support to Standard Chartered bank. Support involved issues related to RightFax software and fax card hardware, and coordination with third party vendor for PRI related issues.
• Provided technical solutions to customer deployment issues in the field.
• Performed successful implementation of web filtering and virtualization solution in International Power. This solution helped in filtering malicious web contents and also providing multiple applications-as-a-service to users within and outside country.
• Managed relationships with these customers, delivering schedule updates and maintaining open, clear interactions
• Addressed customer’s technical issues per their service requirements.
Analysis of business requirements and solution feasibility by offer service lifecycle from creation, launch, delivery and maintenance to eventual retirement. Involved in system procurement including requirements gathering, system assessment, vendor collaboration, and preparation of RFPs.
• Successfully implemented Citrix technologies in both public and private firms.
• Managed solutions development process from project initiation to production deployment including implementation and 24x7 Support.
• Designed and implemented solution for Mitsubishi Corporation for creating Active Directory in Windows Server 2008 R2 and user migration onto new domain. Solution also involved configuring child-domain with Tokyo’s master domain.
• Complete rebuilding of RightFax server for Standard Chartered Bank. The server was configured from scratch and database was restored ensuring all users and faxes were properly retrieved.
• Successful implementation of web filtering solution for Suparco. It helped Suparco in monitoring and filtering web contents for their users residing in remote locations.
• Successful migration of RightFax database (users and e-fax) from SQL Express to Standard Edition for Standard Chartered Bank. This solution assisted in database maintenance and optimizing RightFax performance.
• Involved in managing desktop support by coordinating with resident engineers in Pakistan and Dubai for Nokia Pakistan Mobile.
• Involved in the successful implementation of Citrix XenApp for Civil Aviation Authority. This helped customer is providing their application to users present at different locations of the airport.
Implemented solutions and provided support to small to enterprise level customers. Involved with sales, pre-sales, marketing functions to define product and feature requirements.
• Involved in Active Directory migration for Habib Bank Limited by replacing smaller domains into single centralized domain and transferring user profiles to the new domain.
• Successful implementation of RSA SecureID in State Bank of Pakistan to provide security infrastructure. This ensured secure VPN is provided to various financial institutions all over Pakistan. Logging was done through Cisco ACS to monitor users accessing the system.
• Performed implementation of Citrix XenApp for internal use.
• Designed and deployed Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 in Pakistan International Airline along with completely upgrading their previous Citrix environment and optimizing the environment to give the users much better performance by allocating Policies at Server, User and Application level.
• Involved in the deployment of Citrix servers in Muslim Commercial Bank and upgrading their previous Citrix infrastructure to ensure applications availability to users.
• Successful implementation of RightFax and integrating it with IVR system in Citibank Pakistan. The solution Citibank customer to receive account statement as e-faxes within and outside Pakistan.
• Provided support of RightFax to largest newspaper group Jang in Pakistan.
• Successfully configured and implemented CallXpress voice solution in Sui Southern Gas Company. The solution was integrated with Lotus Domino to generate email with voice message as attachment.
• Responsible for deploying server consolidation solution in Royal Bank of Scotland using VMware. Two vCenters was implemented to manage multiple hosts as a cluster for high availability.
• Implemented Citrix Access Gateway in Royal Bank of Scotland. This helped RBS is providing SSL VPN connectivity for their Citrix environment.
