Working in the Network Department in King Saud University
Operates and maintains high speed communications network facilities including switching systems, and network monitoring and control facilities
Installs, implements, certifies, operates and maintains hardware and software elements interfacing with the communications network.
Participates in the installation and operation of hardware, software and control elements of the network; and assists with the systems programming, operations and maintenance staff of connected computing facilities on hardware and software interface matters.
Assists with testing and evaluation of new versions of communication hardware and software.
Operates and maintains network monitoring and testing facilities to ensure reliable accessibility to networks and computers by customers.
Reviews and documents existing network hardware, software, protocol elements and procedures for possible improvement and recommends new or revised elements or procedures.
Remains current on job-specific knowledge and trends through training courses, workshops, seminars, and professional organizations/publications to apply appropriate methodologies to present and future user needs.
Researches specific questions relative to network connectivity and reliability information from management, programming, operations, maintenance and systems programming personnel.
Responds to 24-hour emergency calls for assistance to correct WLAN outages during on duty and off duty hours using a WLAN workstation, and debugging/tracing tools.
