Handling and processing of purchase requisitions. Analyzing the requirement of the client and sourcing materials accordingly. Developing and evaluating vendors, and negotiating the price, delivery schedule and terms and conditions with them. Ensuring quality supplies from suppliers at the lowest possible cost and passing on the benefits to the customers. Maintaining optimal inventory level of items to ensure smooth and inexpensive supply.
Responsible for procuring raw materials and consumables. Reviewing assigned PRs in the system and to send Request for Quotation (RFQ) to suppliers. Preparation of comparative statements based on quotations received and to issue PO with the approval of concerned authority after final negotiation. Making strong liaison with store and accounts department for timely issuance of Goods Receiving Note (GRN) and payments to suppliers respectively.
Undertaking real time procurement challenges while harnessing strong team working. The duties and responsibilities were same as in the position of Procurement Executive.
Key Subjects: Supply Chain Operation, Strategic Supply Chain Management, Enterprise Resource Planning, Business, Operations and Supply Chain Strategy, Advanced Project Management, Case Studies in Supply Chain Management. The master’s program together with my previous experience helped me building and strengthening my supply chain concepts and provided insights into various aspects of Supply Chain. The course has also helped me enhancing my soft skills. Group works in a diverse multicultural environment polished my team working skills; case based learning enhanced my analytical skills. Moreover, article writing improved my thinking ability and critical approaches. The master’s project was concerned with framing guidelines and tools for supplier selection for manufacturing SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) with the help of literature and practicing professionals of companies. The tool is based on MS Excel for effective, easy and inexpensive use. The course is delivered in collaboration with Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) U.K.
