Courses include: Renewable Energy Integration to Grid, Solar Energy, Marine and Wind Energy, Energy from Biomass, Geothermal and Hydro Energy, Energy Conversion and Storage. Knowledge gained: HVDC, Current Source Converter (CSC), Voltage Source Converter (VSC), PV system design, fundamentals of wind turbine rotor and blade design, fuel cells, Energy from biomass process including anaerobic digestion, bioethanol and biodiesel, Rankine Cycle process.
About five years course develops the knowledge of the mathematical and scientific principles that underpin electrical power engineering. Courses included: Transformers and DC machines, AC machines (synchronous and induction), Power System Analysis, Power System Distribution, Power Electronics, Electrical Power Protection, High Voltage Engineering, Power System Stability and Control, Design and Erection of Electrical Power Systems, and six months field training.
