Key achievements:
• Established a credible consultancy business unit, which offered a wide range of management consultancy and programme management services to asset rich utility clients as well as a diverse suite of IT, GIS and web-enable tools. This group of 35-45 staff had an average annual turn-over of between £6M - £8M.
• Responsible for the creation and development of two specialist groups within the business unit: Technology Implementation, offering IT application development and deployment services (including hosted infrastructure services); and Strategic Investment Planning, offering consulting, IT, GIS and statistical services to water companies to enable them to optimise CAPEX investments and build robust business plans for submission to Ofwat for the next 5 year AMP cycle.
• Provided technical consultation and project leadership on customer-driven technical solution programmes. Also responsible for identifying and assessing any technical and contractual risks associated with the work, and advising on how we might resolve and mitigate those risks ensuring projects met targets. Accountable for all programme/project Quality Assurance and technical success.

• Client facing Delivery Manager and Technical Director responsible for the methodologies, processes, procedures and all IT systems and infrastructure that supported the successful delivery to the required programme of the £15M Mapping Access Land in England Project for the Countryside Agency. This 5 year intensive project contained a mid-contract renegotiation from a £4.3M lump sum to a £15M value for money solution. In December 2005, this project was winner of the Information Management (IM2005) GIS Project Prize and the prestigious overall Premier Project Award.
• Identified and assessed new technologies and built relationships across the industry sector, negotiating agreements with strategic partners.
• Implemented sophisticated and functionally rich spatially-enabled Information Management Systems to private sector clients and Government Agencies enabling them to manage their assets and business activities effectively.•
• Motivated and mentored staff to improve their effectiveness and take on more responsibilities thereby increasing performance and releasing senior staff to develop other areas of the business.
