The operation of this business has facilitated the appointment of several key non-executive posts with the specific responsibility for turnaround strategies appointed by PE firms. Client projects included the management of exits to FTSE listed companies including visitor attractions and healthcare businesses. Currently involved in food, FMCG products, bio-tech and healthcare businesses in Europe and Asia.
Responsible for the finance and strategic development of biotech company in early stage clinical drug research. The company uses gamma scintigraphy technology to identify drug performance in gastro intestinal clinical trials. Under his guidance the company has been grown to No 2 in global market serving customers in all three major markets of USA, Europe and Japan. It is currently looking to establish itself in the emerging markets of the BRICSA economies.
Initially the role in 2003 - 2005 was commercial director on part-time basis to manage the club through the process of administration for which I was recruited after the club went into administration in October 2002. In July 2007 I was persuaded by the board to take on the role of full-time CEO. This role has the responsibility of changing the strategic direction of the club.
Founder and managing director of e-business group of companies. Through a process of organic growth and acquisition grew the group of companies to four operating companies in a difficult marketplace. Within three years the company grew from a start up to employing 35 people. The company although profitable was a casualty of cashflow problems emanating from delays in contracts being awarded in a flat market. The company was seen as a benchmark for technical excellence, innovation and customer service.
Founder of the Group, building it from a £2 start up company to UK’s largest independent multimedia company consisting of four operating companies and offices throughout the UK within four years. The multi award winning company turnover was £3.6m and employed +85 people. The company was sold to Scottish Media Group in October 1998. From that period I was employed primarily in a business development role.
Responsible for various business development initiatives within the food and engineering sectors. These included all aspects of investment and development. Latterly seconded to various companies in requirement of re-organisation and key general management skills. Within this period gained strong economic analysis skills.
Engineer in the deepest mines in the world, responsible for production operations and the health and safety of 600 staff. Further duties included development of mine development strategy.
