- South Border Housing (SBH) (A master project comprising of 5 projects (Jazan A, Jazan B, Najran, Aseer & Eastern province) with a total number of sites equals 16 sites, “compounds”. The compound capacity ranges between 200 To 1700 residential units. The total project value is 17.5 billion Saudi Riyal). The scope of the project for the contractors is to prepare detailed design, engineering procurement, construction, testing & commissioning of a total of 10, 000 residential units including apartment buildings, villas, schools, male & female kinder gardens, sport clubs, mosques, clinics, shopping centers, recreational facilities, military police buildings, service buildings, administrative buildings, warehouses, workshops, petrol stations and others.
Scope also comprises all infrastructure, roads, landscaping, and utilities including sewage treatment plants, RO plants, ancillary buildings, and other external works.
Responsibilities:-
1) Review contractor’s construction baseline schedule and ensure that all elements of project scope are included in the baseline schedule and the schedule is in line with contractual obligations.
2) Ensure that the baseline schedule as well as the schedule updates have been prepared with level of quality required.
3) Prepare the planning section of the monthly progress report that should be submitted to the client by the consultant.
4) Review, study, analyze and assess contractors’ extension of time claims with the use of time impact analysis method.

Under the United Nations Development Program, UNDP, a program titled “Institutional strengthening and capacity building for the good governance in Tobago” and I was attached to the Division of Infrastructure & Public Utilities, DIPU.
There are many roads projects under the supervision of the DIPU.
i. Studley Park Quarry Re-development.
About the project:
The project deemed strategic project to the island of Tobago. Studley Park Quarry was the major quarry in the island and it went under a comprehensive development plan to increase its capacity and scale of production. The main elements of the substantial investment (in excess of US$ 14 million) were a Crushing Plant with the associated equipment of drilling rig, excavators, dump trucks, front end loader, weighbridge, telescopic-handler and transformer and generator.
Responsibilities:-
Identify the project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks and targets to determine the staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project through the project measurement system.
Coordinate with the contractor concerning schedule, sequence of work, and best methods for construction.
Implement the work schedule and monitor progress of the work for timely execution of the project through daily, weekly, monthly reports with respect to review of the overall project.
Ensure that project controls documents such as resources histogram, schedules, reporting systems, material controls systems, etc., are fully developed.
Coordinates with the contractors on utilities issues.
Arrange coordination meetings, record comprehensive meeting minutes and monitor entire project documentations.
Provide coordination of construction and special projects as they pertain to the utilities companies.

ii. UWI University Campus Project
About the project:
The building project has three main components:
Administration building.

iii. Scarborough Regional Hospital Project, Signal Hill.
About the project:
The project comprise construction of the 100 plus bed, general acute care facility. The Campus is an open pavilion and multiple wards style layout and it is meant to serve as the major general hospital of Tobago island.
Responsibilities:-
Provide technical support as part of design team under supervision of the chief civil engineer of the DIPU.
Act as focal point of contact for the project with the client and contractors
Review and approve contractor’s payment certificate.
iv. Rehabilitation of Tobago Library.
About the project:
The project is aimed, mainly, to rehabilitate The Tobago Library, which was hardly hit by an earthquake in 1997.
Responsibilities:-
Planning and scheduling.

Representing the ministry as senior civil engineer.
Ensure that the construction work is being carried out as per contract, standards, and specs.

The Tobago Island has so many areas of high and severe susceptibility to coastal erosion and landslides. The DIPU put up projects to protect the community and properties erosion and landslides.

Supervise construction of different types of retaining walls to protect roads on cliff areas.

It is a five-star hotel in central Khartoum with an oval curved facade and has 18 guest floors, 173 rooms and 57 suites, all offering panoramic views. The hotel has six restaurants and cafes and leisure facilities including spa, gym, tennis and squash courts.
