Operation of Boilers/HRSG, Steam Turbines/Gas Turbines/Combined cycle steam Generators, Desalination Units including common auxiliaries and 380 KV SF-6 Switchgears.PTW system through "SAP" System. Details of Responsibilities are:-
• To supervise and oversee daily Power & Desalination Plants Operations performed by Operations Team whilst on Duty in order to ensure that operational targets are achieved safely, commercially and within the strict environmental and contractual limits.
• Direct the operating crew to safely operate the Power & Desalination Plant including associated Equipments in accordance with established procedures and practices.
• Troubleshoot operational problems and initiate maintenance requests.
• Perform other duties related to operations including assisting with maintenance planning and coordination, training of operators, investigating loss events and developing and reviewing procedures.
• Ensure that Plant meets safety, availability, reliability, efficiency, generation and budget targets.
• Liaises with agencies such as NPCC etc. and ensure the voice recording of the communication.
• Controls the Plant process and electrical distribution through the plant distributed control system DCS and other control process devices.
• Become a Systems Expert in various auxiliaries in the Plant like Emergency Diesel Generators, Fire Fighting Pumps, Sea water pumps/supply system, Electro chlorination Plant, Gas chlorine Plant, Demineralization Plant, Air Compressors, H2 Generation & filling station, Fuel Oil supply System & Closed Cooling Water System.
• Understands and masters the plant emergency handling procedures ERT. Minimize the risk during any failure of the fire Fighting System by taking the appropriate action, prepare fire impairment documents and sends it to the concerned people. Co-ordinate with HSE department.
• Ensures the completion of shift round checklists, routine daily, weekly, monthly test checklists, and Equipments change over checklists etc.
• Responsible for the generation and sending the Plant’s daily data requirements in a timely manner to all applicable parties.
• Assist to establish the appropriate procedures, in particular the Permit to Work System SAP.
• Trains, directs and supervises plant personal.
• Supervise the isolation and normalization procedure for equipment/systems.
• Understands and adheres to all plant safety guideline and procedures. Strives to maintain any injury- free environment.
• Monitor the operation and performance facility whilst on shift duty.
• Takes appropriate action when necessary to ensure compliance of safety, efficiency, environmental and administrative guidelines.
• Supervise boiler and water chemistry testing during the shift & makes corrections to the process as necessary.
• Becomes a Systems Expert in Boiler/steam turbine and generator operations. Follows up on manufacturing manuals, develops and maintains procedures and serves as resources to others.
• Understands the operation of Continuous Emissions Monitoring, keep monitoring Emissions and ensure they are within the limits.
• Monitors the chemical dosing in the plant to optimize the consumption.
• Minimizes the risk during any failure of the fire Fighting System by taking the appropriate, Action, prepares fire impairment documents and sends it to the concerned people.
• Overseas and participates in equipment and site clean-up on regular basis.
• Submits the necessary reports and recommendations to the Operations Manager concerning Equipment/plant status and/ or any problems.
• Coordinate operation activities with finance, administration and HSE department.
• Follow up Automatic Control and Process measurement (YokoGawa-Japan), Burner Management System AFS-1000 (Forney - USA).
• Follow up Maintenance, Repair & Testing of Electrical Equipment’s. Protection of Generators, Transformers & Motors. Maintenance of 132 KV & 6.6 KV Switchgears.
