Roseires Dam is located in the Damazin rapids in the Blue Nile, about 520km south-east of Khartoum. The Dam was originally constructed in 1966 to a top water level of 480m with allowance for it to be raised to 490m at a future date with main objective was to increase reservoir to 7.4 Billion m3 for Down Stream future irrigation Projects.
The Dam is a composite dam with a central 1000 m long concrete buttress dam section that contains the deep level sluices, gated spillways, power intakes for a surface power station and headwork for irrigation canals on either side of the river. Total price was 400+ million USD
Roles and duties:
- Supervised of refurbishment activities in Deep Sluice Chamber
- Quality assurance of reinforced Concrete structures activities
- Followed the progress of the concrete work and prepare reports (Daily, Weekly & Monthly) and reviewed construction & execution drawings and method statement issued by Contractor
- Reviewed and followed the contractual obligations of works Method Statement, Work Program, Construction drawings, Inspecting materials and resources regarding Concrete works.

- Supervised excavation and earth works of the works for towers and Substation.
- Supervised foundation works (Rock, Pad, and Pile) of 500kv OHTL, transformers, buildings and other Substation switchgears.
- Supervised erection of 500kv OHTL towers and steel structures of Substation switchgears.
- Supervised all other civil works of substation (roads and earth works, UG cable ducts, buildings, sewerage networks, fences, …etc.).
- Supervised QA/QC of Civil works with laboratory and field required tests.
