Panasonic is the headquarters in MENA region responsible for distribution and service of Panasonic products. Member of the legal department responsible for contract management, company governance, compliance, legal training and legal advice for Panasonic headquarters and representative offices in MENA region. Activities including:
• Drafting and reviewing of exclusive and non-exclusive distributorship agreements;
• Drafting and reviewing of manufacturing and service agreements;
• Drafting and reviewing non-disclosures, data protection, apartment leasing, warehousing, Insurance, IT, service level agreements and various business related agreements;
• Drafting and reviewing of MoU, power of attorney, affidavit, any other ad-hoc documents;
• Negotiating with distributors based in MENA region for contract terms finalization;
• Assisting with company secretarial matters related to preparation of board resolutions and minutes of meetings;
• Conducting legal research on various legal aspects based on company requirements;
• Overseeing the tender requirements of agents and assisting with tender letters;
• Responsible for implementing anti-money laundering, bribery and corruption, data protection and destination control compliance;
• Conducting compliance training in areas of bribery and corruption, contract compliance and antitrust;
• Maintaining data-base of laws and regulations of MENA region;
• Liaising with law firms for litigation matters
• Handled investigations of internal and external compliance matters;
• Overseeing the governance matters of the representative offices.
Epsi Computers is the sole agent in Sri Lanka, responsible for distribution and service of View Sonic monitors and computer peripherals. Member of the legal department responsible for contract management, company governance, legal communication and secretarial matters of EPSI. Activities including:
• Drafting and reviewing of sales contracts;
• Drafting and reviewing of annual maintenance agreements and MoU;
• Drafting and reviewing of NDA, power of attorney, affidavits, notices and letters;
• Assisting company secretarial matters of preparing resolutions, notice of meetings, minutes and assisting with filing.
• Conducting legal research related to company requirements;
• Liaising with internal and external law firms; and
• Assisting the Legal manager on daily tasks of the company.
Thambiah Associates is a Legal Firm in Sri Lanka specifically undertaking commercial and land matters. Assisting senior lawyers, responsible for case record updates, legal research, coordinating with clients and preparing of summary documents of the company. Activities including:
• Reviewing daily calendar and submitting the schedules to the relevant lawyers;
• Assisting the senior lawyers with case arguments;
• coordinating with external Lawyers regarding pending cases, documentation, etc;
• Handling preliminary interviews of required individuals;
• Preparing summary documents and witness statements for review of senior lawyers;
• Conducting legal research as and when required depending on the subject matter;
• Supporting correspondences relating to contracts, agreements, legal notifications etc.
