• Assist Management in the development of safety policies and procedures. Review & evaluate the implementation of relevant procedures & standards, advice management of any variance(s) and recommend remedial action for correcting the variance(s).
• Prepares plans and sets goals and objectives to continuously improve the overall safety performance.
• To encourage safety consciousness, commitment and active involvement from employees and contractors to meet the objectives of the organization’s Safety policy
• Giving ‘PEP-TALK’ or ‘TOOL BOX TALK’ to workers before any day’s job begins, highlighting hazards associated with each task and necessary precautions required to curb them.
• To act as an adviser to the management in all aspect of safety including accident prevention, fire outbreak prevention, protection and management of emergency situations.
• Deliver safety training where specified by Safety Manager & or Site Construction Manager.
• Regular inspection of workplace and advising management on hazardous conditions noted.
• Conducting accident investigation in the event of an accident or incidence.
• Ensuring that appropriate work permits are obtained from the Client and all the permit conditions and precautions stipulated therein are strictly adhered to.
• Ensuring that workers wear necessary personal protective equipment.
• Conducting unsafe act audits, inspections and walk through at regular intervals.
• Ensuring that the right tools are used for the task and all equipments in service must be safe to handle and in good working condition
• Ensuring that appropriate Safety notices, signs and barricades are erected where necessary in the worksite.
• Attend Clients/Contractors weekly safety meetings and implementing all related action points as they affect company’s operation
• Ensuring strict implementation of MEDEVAC procedures and all other Emergency procedures.
• Updating site HSE Records viz: Incidents, Medical, Visitors, Unsafe Acts/Conditions, near misses, e.t.c.
• Monitor overall safety performance of the organization, generate and provide reports of safety performance and advise Management of the outcome.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Protect lives & properties from fire & a variety of other emergencies. To extinguish fires and respond to emergency calls for persons in need of help.
• Helping out at the scene of accidents and rescuing trapped people, animals from building, plants, cars, etc.
• Educating the staffs and public on fire awareness, fire safety and fire prevention.
• Liaising closely with other emergency response agencies, most particularly local and state police departments.
