-Monitor the flow of work and help to distribute work for an assigned group of employees.
-Provide training and technical assistance to employees within an assigned work area.

Provide guidance and consultation to in-country and junior personnel.
-Interpret and correlate clinical test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition in order to explain test results (normal/abnormal) so that appropriate action can be taken.
-Troubleshoot testing process discrepancies.
-Develop and validate new tests and quality procedures for assigned area. Write procedures for new tests and update existing procedures to meet the goals of Laboratory Quality Assurance and Quality Management Plan.
-Ensure that test results meet the requirements of the laboratory quality control program.
-Ensure preventative maintenance for equipment in the assigned area is performed. Perform complex troubleshooting, repair, and modification of a wide range of complex equipment and instrumentation
-Assist in the roll-out of new equipment and equipment modifications
-Instruct technicians and technologists in the set-up and operation of new equipment and procedures
-Ensure compliance with all laboratory quality and safety policies
Maintain accurate records of tests performed, using computer-based systems
-Comply with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
-Attend meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed
-Demonstrate the use of quality improvement in daily operations
