Management
Manage the program in accordance with approved company programs, HSE policies, standards and systems to fully meet project objectives.
Provide instructions to the drilling and third party service contractors with respect to conduct of the work.
Ensure service company personnel are aware of their duties and that all required personnel, materials and equipment are at the rig and checked ready for the job.
Ensure compliance with all regulations pertaining to the work are adhered to by all parties.
HSE
Manage company HSE systems on the drilling site.
Play a lead role in the drilling contractor’s Emergency Response Plan on the drilling site.
Observe all company health, safety and environmental instructions, act in a safe manner and avoid unnecessary risks to themselves and others.
Immediately report any unsafe conditions or activities, dangerous occurrences or injuries to personnel in the workplace.
Not interfere with, remove, displace or make ineffective any safeguard, safety device, equipment or appliance provided for health, safety and environmental purposes - except for during an approved maintenance or repair procedure.
Assist new employees in the use of relevant work procedures and practices in order to ensure their safety and the safety of all employees.
Provide safety leadership by example.
Operations
Manage the work in conjunction with other company personnel.
Maintain a constant awareness of well bore conditions and operating constraints that affect operational safety including weather conditions.
Initiate changes to the pre-agreed program when and as required, to protect personnel, environment, equipment and the well.
Lead the well control team at the drilling rig in conjunction with the drilling contractor’s senior personnel.
Ensure well control and safety equipment is serviceable, and personnel are competent in its use.
Provides a working environment, which promotes understanding of the drilling discipline in the training of company personnel.
Audit the work performed by the drilling contractor and third party service contractors to ensure it is performed according to terms of contracts and agreements.
Reporting
Ensure all routine drilling and cost control reports required by the Company, Drilling Superintendent and the regulatory bodies are completed to a professional standard.

Ensure accountability for the technical integrity of the well, accuracy and completeness of reports and company property.

Well Design
Collect and analyze well data received from geologists, geophysicists and third party contractors in order to design wells(well interventions, well testing, completions & workover programs) in line with well design engineering principles to guide the implementation of field activities such as bottom-hole assembly, casing, cementing and logging.
Health, Safety and Environment
Follow and implement all processes are carried out in line with company policies, procedures and regulations and international standards in order to ensure a safe working environment so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed
Operations
Monitor and evaluate well conditions during drilling, completions and work-over operations ensuring procedures are technically valid and applicable to the specific well conditions.
Cost Estimates
Based on the data from the Design programs, prepare the budget for the Authorization for Expenditure (AFE).so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues.
Evaluation
Collect all the implementation data from various sources e.g. geophysicists, rig superintendent contractors in order to assess the quality of implementation and develop recommendations for corrective actions and consolidation of best practices for the future.
Completions
Develop and issue the completion program in line with the requirements of the reservoir engineering department and consistent with principles of engineering design which are ‘fit for purpose’.
Management & Reporting
Provide technical support and consulting for all well operations. Complete relevant jobs for data acquisition and analysis to complete operational reports.
Achievements
Ensuring the performance of the rig which is a function of safety, time and cost.
Utilize field operational knowledge and experience to assist Technical Teams to develop, design, plan, coordinate and implement drilling programs for Clients.
Provide skilled level support for drill bits, downhole tools, key field product applications and well prognosis.
Work closely with members of the drilling, completions and other disciplines within the Asset Teams in developing strategies to achieve well construction and data gathering objectives
Support Drill Site Managers and Drilling Superintendent during well execution phase.
Develop cost estimates and risks vs. rewards analysis to determine the best operational methods to achieve the chosen strategies.
Ensure rig operations are conducted in a safe, timely and professional manner.
Involvement with the drilling personnel and activities to ensure that all the drilling staffs have clear vision and understanding of the complexity, risks and mitigations of work being performed.
Assist the company in the implementation of all necessary HSE measures during project preparation, rig-up, drilling, completions, testing, and rig-down phases.
Review of well programmes & documentation as well as company drilling contractor bridging documents to ensure that HSE complicity with the components of the management system and to ensure a safe workplace and safe behaviours.

Identify the basic requirements for the drilling/work-over rigs needed by the development wells activities and preparing specifications for equipment to be used.
Follow up the progress of design, construction and commissioning of the drilling related infrastructures, the drilling rigs and associated equipment
Ensure proper communications between the drilling contractor and other contractors working at a well location (auditing technical/HSE documents, bridging HSE policies, etc.) in order to prevent down time at start up of the drilling operations
Contributing to, and possibly driving the discussions between all the disciplines involved in the definition and preliminary design of the well site(s) installation, pointing out needs and requirements from the Well / Rig Operations Department’s standpoint.
