Undertake structural designs for initiation and completion of engineering projects related to new construction and other infrastructure in UNAMA. Planed, coordinate, scheduled and supervised implementation of engineering projects such as: construction, refurbishment, installation, and maintenance. Conducted preliminary site assessments to obtain information such as soil characteristics, drainage and other data required for building site selection. Develop scope of works and specifications for engineering building, infrastructure, goods and services. Diagnose problems and develops solutions for defective engineering systems for installation, repairs and maintenance. Liaise with other engineering personnel in the mission and mission logisticians to resolve challenges through teamwork. Inspect and report on construction, installation and maintenance projects carried out either by contractors. Monitor and supervise construction projects, local engineering personnel assigned to the Engineering Section in the Mission. Prepared cost estimate for engineering projects, verify progress of engineering projects and recommend to the Section Chief for partial or final payments. Follow up on correction of defects in material or workmanship of contractor's work during the warranty period of the contracts. Carried out scheduled and preventive maintenance of structures in UNAMA and undertake technical evaluation of bids and proposals for engineering projects and equipment.
