Assist HAD to achieve its growth ambitions by developing strategic relationships with institutions, organisations and funding agencies, with the aim of developing sustainable programmes that enable to continue the capacity building of local community based organisations; Assist HAD to achieve its financial target by generating and diversifying funding sources and managing existing and new grants; Work closely with partners, institutional donors and external organisations to develop new projects, products and services for funding; Lead in institutional funding and donor compliance by developing relationships and advising the departments of HAD.
Help and support clients (mid-level managers & emerging leaders) to achieve their leadership & career goals and maximize their development opportunities. Areas of support: (1) Defining and clarifying what the managers wants to accomplish (vision, plans etc); (2) Formulating actions and commitments to achieve sustainable results; (3) Managing negotiations and difficult conversations; (4) Identifying and evaluating managers strengths and areas that need improvement via self-assessment tests and personality, skills & behavioral profiles to help structure a custom-made coaching program that will help managers achieve their goals and form a stronger sense of commitment to their interests and activities.
Responsible for managing the (World Bank funded) CFWE project which contributes towards the alleviation of need & severe economic weakness through providing employment opportunities for youth and facilitating access to education services in poor communities. Project components:
(1) To provide immediate income for unemployed youth through strengthening their skills and competencies to work as teachers and facilitators for basic education, literacy and adult education
(2) To facilitate and improve access to basic education services in coordination with relevant national programs through the funding of education services at the community level with a focus on strengthening the demand for these services.
Main functions include overseeing the project initiation, planning, execution, budget monitoring, management of procurement matters, and leadership, ensure the project delivers its duties according to agreements, meet the implementation targets set forth and oversee the reporting and monitoring & evaluation functions.
In charge of overseeing the youth projects and training programs locally & managing the global systems associated with it; Responsible for YEFE fundraising efforts; Developed and maintained partnerships with employers, stakeholders, donors and partners; Hired and managed personnel; Prepared program and financial reports for donors, analyzed revenue and expenditure trends, recommended appropriate budget levels and ensured expenditure control; Reported to the YEFE Board of Trustees on progress in meeting goals; Built a strong team consisting of 20 staff members in Sana’a, Taiz and Aden, fostering a cohesive, productive team environment; Implemented youth development projects totaling approximately $2.3M over 5 years for MEPI, FFF, USAID, UNDP and ILO.
Oversaw the organizations recruitment and human resource functions; Responsible for drafting, interviewing, and selection of prospective employees; Supervised staff; Developed, reviewed and implemented policies and procedures; Advised staff on labor laws and regulations; Developed job descriptions and employee specifications; Designed and reviewed application forms and HR documents; Performed job assessments and reviews; Long term/short term program development & planning; Preparation of proposals, Assisted the CEO in the coordination & management of the organizations internationally funded projects; Supervised the monitoring & evaluation team in the administration of M&E tools and processes related to specific projects; Maintained partnerships with employers, stakeholders, donors & partners; Successfully established Yemen’s first Alumni Club that strengthens alumni engagement both with YEFE and their society, offers ongoing support to graduates such as mentoring, networking opportunities and continuing education as well as organizing cultural, community service, sports & recreational activities.
Provided expert Information Technology consultancies and support services for oil companies in addition to SME’s. Services included: Installation of IT networks, telecommunication, and data communication systems; Provided on-site IT & network support solutions; Developed and implemented emergency IT systems to enable business continuity; On-site computer training in network systems & applications; Hardware maintenance; and other IT related services.
Coordinated & maintained consistent access to the DFID UK office network via Yemen’s ISP; Developed & created a back-up office IT network facility to enable business continuity; Installed & maintained the offices Video Conferencing system; Maintained & serviced the office IT and communications equipment on monthly basis; Procured IT equipment, goods and data communication services when necessary; Developed & maintained the Office Manual for staff policies & procedures; Managed general office & facilities operations (including staff security procedures); Successfully managed, coordinated and facilitated the DFID office relocation to new premises and implemented the Electronics Database & Records Management (EDRM) linked to DFID HQ in London, UK.
Collected, analyzed, evaluated and reported data in order to increase sales productivity; Collected sales records & trends and evaluated performance measured against sales quotas; Analyzed sales and performance records, interpreted results of overall sales; Assisted management in developing and reviewing the sales budget and rolling sales forecast including sales to budget variance analysis; Guided sales reps (Key Accounts, Regional Sales, etc.) in entering accurate forecasts; Generated reports for forecast, and collaborate forecasts into monthly reports. Conducted periodic Competition Activity Reports based on the analysis of P&G’s competitor products in the market; Responsible for annual sales support activities budget (approximately $300, 000 annually); Procured appropriate materials for product sales support activities (i.e. enhance visibility of products, increase sales, etc); Successfully selected to participate in a 6 month on-the-job training in “Product Sales Support Activities” at P&G’s partner - Modern Industries Company (MIC) - in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from Nov 1997 to Apr 1998.
